Banks

Metro Bank

10-20 Castle St, Luton LU1 3AJ, UK – 0345 080 8500

Excellent! Went in to open a current account, took no longer than 45 mins. Had my debit card handed to me, banking app set up ready to go and a goody bag too! All in all excellent service and I'm glad I joined them.

Easy to open and account mostly did it because I needed a bank that closed late. Friendly staff easy parking and you get seen to very quickly even when it's pretty busy.

Been my primary banking society since I were just a wee lad! Never had a problem. Sometimes the lines are long as but come on its a bank so this is to be expected. I just hope we don't go the way of Greece.. Lines would be ridiculous!

I have one friend who have one account here.he tell me this branch is a right.he recommended

Building Societies

The Co-operative Bank - Luton

2-6 Alma St, Luton LU1 2PL, UK

The staff are friendly and helpful enough but very slow at serving customers. I'm not sure if this is due to their computer systems because they make an awful lot of keystrokes for a simple transaction.

Helpful, friendly and gave informative advice

Dental Surgeries

Luton House Dental Practice

61 George St, Luton LU1 2AL, UK – 01582 485426

Popped in today as snapped front tooth at the weekend and NO-ONE is registering new patients so thought I'd try my luck. Greated by a lovely receptionist who gave me a form to fill out and then was instantly uploaded onto their system. She offered me an emergency appointment within the hour which I was shocked by. I then went and saw Tanya - The dentist downstairs, herself and her team were great in sorting my front tooth out - Looks brand new! Also went through other possible problems with my teeth and gave me good suggestions. Amazing first impressions and booked my next appointment to see her again. Thank you and looking to being treated by a good team of dentists and very hard to find them!!!

My Gran needed an emergency dentist after falling and breaking two teeth. This practice was suggested by 111 helpline. We phoned on Saturday and they gave us an appointment the next day. She was seen by a dentist who was also qualified as maxillofacial expert so he was able to fully asses her facial injuries as well as providing two temp fillings. My Gran felt so much better after her visit to this practice and we wanted to leave a positive review.

Liverpool Road Health Centre

9 Mersey Pl, Luton LU1 1HH, UK – 01582 708100

Honestly the best GP appointment I think I have ever had. Recently registered and had my first appointment here with Dr Umar Qureshi who is amazing. So thorough, patient, understanding and attentive.

Friendly Doctor and Stuff. My appointment was on time. Nice place. Highly recommend.

Vogue Dental Care

260-262 Crawley Green Rd, Luton LU2 0SJ, UK – 01582 432181

I love this surgery, was always a bit nervous of dentists before joining this surgery many years ago. The reception staff are lovely and Jane is always willing to identify a suitable appointment even with my limited options, my dentist Dr R Patel makes you feel at ease whilst explaining all details of your treatment and my hygienist Smita is a lovely lady who has helped me improve my oral health. I would recommend this modern surgery to any of my friends or family and have done in the past.

The reason I chose Vogue Dental Care was because of the high rating. From day 1 I had a lovely welcome from receptionist as expected. Had a lot of work done for 5-6 weeks and it was a very good experience , the receptionists were lovely and helpful, so was the young dentist miss Shah - always happy to help. I would highly recommend them and will be using Vogue Dental Care always Thanks Vogue

Dentists

U Smile Dental Luton

156 Old Bedford Rd, Luton LU2 7HN, UK – 01582 415150

Very professional and polite staff. Super clean surgery. Very different than my previous NHS surgery. Highly recommended.

I am overall happy with my treatment at this surgery. The dentist didn't shy away from doing extra work to get the job done properly.

Maple Dental Clinic

29 Upper George St, Luton LU1 2RD, UK – 01582 727314

very professional and decent Practice, Soham Patel is a excellent dentist with good experience and he really took care of my concerns also Joanna is a very good assistant and polite - 5*****

Excellent prevention, great work when necessary I have been a patient at this clinic for many years. Long before, in my teens, I was given what I now believe to have been unnecessary fillings (old style, I am now 59) and had bad experiences after that with root canal work etc., so was sceptical and cynical about dentists for ages. At this clinic, Dr Soham Patel really cares about my teeth, and offers excellent advice on toothpaste, mouthwash, cleaning, etc., to try to stop further problems arising. Given the state of my mouth when I first went to this Clinic, I have been absolutely delighted with the service offered. When intervention has been necessary to repair/replace, Dr Patel has been very clear about options, risks and benefits, what might go wrong, and probabilities. The last two times he has had to remove fillings, we have begun without a local anaesthetic, so he could see by my reactions how near the nerve he had got. He works really carefully, and when I started to twinge (I don't pretend to have a high pain threshold) he put a (painless) injection in, just for the final stage. No pain afterwards, which contrasts with previous experiences elsewhere, and putting in the new fillings has been an absolute breeze (for me). I now feel very lucky to have a dentist who I am convinced is committed to ensuring that my teeth are in the best condition possible (given how they were when we first met), and who works with great skill and care, and advises with real knowledge and wisdom, to keep them that way.

1 Dunstable Rd, Luton LU1 1BB, UK – 01582 722131

Ive paid almost £20 just for the dentist to look in my mouth she could have polished my teeth but didn't not very happy about that , friendly receptionists .

Had an emergency appointment and very satisfied with service that has been provided by receptionist as well as procedure with dentist. All staff is friendly and very polite, heads up for a doctor, definitely a professional.

Dr. T Verity - Caddington Doctors Surgery

33 Manor Rd, Caddington, Luton LU1 4EE, UK – 01582 725673

I would like to thank Dr Luckhurst personally for my last visit to the surgery was for an issue of chest pain, breathlessness and asthma review. Dr Luckhurst was understanding and very helpful, she went through all the issues I had and more, this was an emergency appointment at the end of the day and Dr Luckhurst spent more time with me than she had with her busy schedule and her designated timeslots. Dr Luckhurst reviewed my Asthma medicines, discuss some personal issues, investigated and wrote a hand written letter to the L&D Hospital requesting an appointment to resolve a reoccurring hernia. I would like to thank Dr Luckhurst for being so accommodating as my life schedule is very busy and I don't attend the surgery very often and imposed her with many more issues that I should have done. Thank you Regards Roger Morgan

Leagrave Surgery

37A Linden Rd, Luton LU4 9QZ, UK – 01582 572817

Best surgery in Luton. Been using this practice for 4 years now and they try to get you seen as soon as possible, flexible staff. Awesome Doctors. My favourites are Dr Matta, Dr EMMA, Dr Ralph and Dr Deeley (always tries to be on time with his appointments). The parking is crazy though.

All the doctors here are very nice with the exception of Dr Tanveer, he is so damn rude. The best doctor is Dr Emma Chacravaty, she listens to everything you have to say and makes right diagnosis, even goes the extra mile to help you in other ways possible. I agree some of the reception ladies are rude - especially the indian one but there are a few nice ones. One star less because some days the waiting time is ridiculusly long other days you get seen on your appointment time or near enough

Very professional, expert staff. Explaining all the procedures very well and obviously very caring about their patients. Appointment was easy to book with friendly, welcoming and helpful staff. Thank you for carrying out a simple procedure, which i probably wouldn't have been able to get done via the National Health Service.

Excellent in clinic and after care service provided for our new born baby. Dr Khan Bhai is one of the best proffesional specialists and was very helpfull througout the whole procedure. DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED *****

St Mary's Church

Church Office, Church St, Luton LU1 3JF, UK – 01582 721867

A lovely church almost in the centre of town in Church st. There is so much to see on this church and you are able to get right up close and see the detail. Lovely workmanship and detail. lots of hidden detail that you would miss if you didn't get up close . The windows are also very nice . If you do visit this place DO remember there is also a back part to it as you will miss out on stunning views if you didn't. You are not able to walk on the grounds of the back of this church, but you can still see fairly up close and i really enjoyed seeing the old gates and old little winding pathway leading upto the old door at the back.

Fantastic venue for a graduation. A spacious site full of history. Great pipe organ comfortable seats. The building is well kept. It has disable access.

St Andrews Church

Church Rd, Slip End, Luton LU1 4BJ, UK – 01582 480391

A very nice Church and grounds. It is so peaceful here. Very clean and tidy and also i was able to walk around the whole grounds. This church had a lot of older wood attached to it, from the main little gate to the entrance of the church. Walking around i came across many tiny doors which looked like that hadn't been used in years, very nice. The trees here are also very pretty and one of the large trees had a nice comfy seat under which gave great shade and lovely smell of pine. The glass windows are also very nice looking . I enjoyed very much visiting here, but this church is almost hidden from the outside road it's very hard to notice where it is .Wonderful old Church.

Always very lovely know one works of there ego peaceful friendly

Local Restaurants & Places to Eat around Luton

Meah Indian Restaurant

102 Park St, Luton LU1 3EY, UK – 01582 454504

I had another venue booked for my sisters hen party however they flaked on me on Thursday. Meah not only kindly hosted my party on Sunday but made it so special. They catered to my needs helped so much with everything even when I forgot the loo paper for dress making! He gave me a fantastic price for a range of dishes all which were not only delicious but also had a unique flavour. I am asian and I know curries can start to taste very similar if not cooked well but this was awesome. All the girls had a fabulous evening the ambience was perfect and the venue was just the right blend of intimate to allow the room to feel full and spacious enough or us to play a multitude of games. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to host a party we were about 20 girls or even just to eat great quality food. We felt comfortable, well fed and had an amazing time :)

My first time ordering from here, I collected my food the staff were very friendly. The food is really nice and resonably priced. Even my daughter who is a fussy eater and not really a fan of Indian loved it. Will definately be coming here again.

Spice of Caddington

Good food enormous portions!

Excellent food beautifully flavours and service was also excellent

La Trattoria

66 Bute St, Luton LU1 2EY, UK – 01582 410291

As always a great meal which made a great evening. Have been here many times and always go back.. some people say that the decor is outdated! I say you go to a restaurant for the food not the decor! It may be dated but it is very clean which I can't say for some "more modern" restaurants we have been too and have never had a bad meal..

If you’re going out in Luton we recommend La Trattoria - a unique place to eat. Service was excellent, attentive and atmosphere was friendly. Lovely, tasty food and quality Italian wine. We hope to have another meal here again. Well done!
